Marked House of Night Series 1-3 : These books were amazing. They are about vampyres, a girl named Zoey Redbird and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Yes, I said Tulsa OKLAHOMA. They are so awesome. I am so glad there are books based in Oklahoma. It just makes you proud of your state.
They are quite different than your normal vampyre books. Vampyres are not bitten and turned in these books they are marked by a crescent moon. When they are marked they have 24 hours (or less) to get to the House of Night to be with full vampyres. "Newly marked" vampyres are called fledglings. The House of Night is a school for fledglings this is where they learn bascially how to be a vampyre. You should read it because it is very good! Besides the library owns the books.

High School Bites: Have you ever read the book Dracula? No, no big deal. This book is about a girl named Lucy and the power she finds out she has. In the book Dracula there is a Lucy and Dracula is madly in love, sorta. It's a love/hate relationship. She knows what he is and it infuriates him. Dracula is charming to others but she knows that's his power to conquer. She has a daughter she names her Lucy and so on and so on until we come upon our main character. Her mother died of cancer. Her on/off boyfriend is related to Dracula. Will she be able to kill Dracula and save her on/off boyfriend? READ TO FIND OUT!

The Silver Kiss: 16-year-old Zoë is faced with the reality that her mother is dying of bone cancer. When she meets the mysterious and handsome Simon, she feels he can understand her pain better than anyone else has. As Zoë's life goes from bad to worse, Simon becomes her one true support. However, there is something very creepy about the pale young man. Will that creepy something (that is, the fact that Simon is a vampire) force the two apart? Zoe realizes that Simon is just as lonely as she is. The two fall in love and Simon tells her of his secret. In the story it is discovered that Simon has an older brother, Christopher, who is also a vampire. But he loves killing for pleasure and is stuck in a child's body. Simon has set out to kill Christopher since he was the one who murdered their mother. He disguises himself as an orphan with albinism in order to find temporary homes and new victims.When Zoë finds out about Christopher, she sets out with Simon with the intent of killing him but his older brother is wise and will not be taken down easily... It really is a beautiful story.

Lone Wolf
(Fan Fiction for Eclipse) I stopped writing and looked up. Something had moved, but what? Someone was watching me I could feel it. After ten minutes sitting there staring at the same tree stump, I finally relaxed enough to continued my story. I have no idea why I always wrote in the woods. I needed to escape from my older brother and little sister yes, but there was more to it. Something about this particular forest drew me here anytime I could sneak away for a few minutes.
It drove my grandmother crazy. She was convinced that these woods were haunted by giant bears. Bears didn’t scare me though; especially giant imaginary bears. My grandmother was an extremely superstitious old women, and I had stopped believing her stories of giant bears and diamond people years ago. I would have stopped believing sooner if it weren’t for my grandfather. It was normal for grandma to believe crazy stories, but for him to believe it too caught me slightly of guard. Still, it’s silly for a sixteen year old girl to believe in old folk tales so I don’t.
Today’s trip to the woods had been "necessary" because of an extreme case of writers block. Or at least, that’s what I told grandma. I still had to fight her to get out the door though. She’s very protective of me. She says it’s for my dads sake but her and I both know that he doesn’t care about any of us; not since mom and my little unborn sister died in the car accident. I think he blames me in some twisted way for their death. I did too for a while.
But, I knew very well that grandma was only protective over me for my grandpa’s sake. Apparently I look and act like my mother, although I still have never seen the resemblance. Mom was grandpas darling baby girl so, I became his darling little granddaughter.
I had to stop writing again I just couldn’t shake that weird feeling. I had always felt completely safe in these woods, but now I felt like every instinct I possessed was telling me to get out. Now. I heard a leaf rustle and snapped my head in the direction of the sound. All I saw was a glint of light. Diamond people? "Stop it." I scolded myself under my breath. There was no reason to get excited over what was probably just the wind and a glint of sun.
It was an unusually sunny day for Washington. It seems like it was always raining or overcast but not today. Today I actually wore sun screen and sunglasses. I was in my usual hide out in the woods; a small little clearing with a convenient moss covered log. The sun looked gorgeous through the hole in the trees.
Grandmother always said that sun was the only way to see the diamond people for what they truly were and as he stepped into the light, I knew she was right.

The Last Egg

(Fan fiction for Eragon)

As Jarak stands there in the middle of the woods looking around. Waiting for his prey to come out from behind the trees. Just a few steps and he could have the beast dead and cleaned before nightfall. Then suddenly he saw something out of the corner of his eye. It was something sparkeling and purple. Then the beast bolts away as Jarak stumbles over a log. So as he slams down his bow and curse everything in sight, he walks toward the sparkeling rock. Then as he gets closer he can see it getting brighter and brighter. As he bends down and touches it, he feels a great pain through out his body.... As he awoke with a throbbing head. He looks around, he could swear that rock was real. But now he can't find it. Then suddenly he saw something small and purple flash past him. He sits up as fast as a bolt of lightning. There it was again, but what could it be! Maybe it was the rock. Maybe the rock wasn't a rock. Maybe it was an egg......

Make a recommendation for an upcoming book pick:

1.EX. Inkheart/Cornelia Funke: It is a fabulous book filled with fantasy and adventure. It is being made into a movie. I love to compare and contrast a movie vs. the book.

2. The Sea of Trolls by Nancy Farmer. It is amazing, one of my favorite books by one of my favorite authors and the Land of Silver Apples (2nd in the series) is a good book to so it would make people want to read more (plus the finale coming out in 2009) (From: Eric)

3. Eragon by Christopher Paolini. It's my favorite book, next to the second book in the series, Eldest. The third book in the series is coming out in September, I'm not sure if it's the last book though. It's call Brisingr, all good books, and based on the first two, the third should be extravagant.
